New Orangefield project

One of the new projects I'm working on is a home in Orangefield for Mr and Mrs R.  They have a young family and are building on a large lot with lots of space for the kids.  The dirt work was done a few weeks ago and this week we are forming and pouring the foundation.  I've never done work in Orangefield before but there's a lot of building going on there.  Seems to be a very popular and growing area.

Fast pace

At this stage of the home construction, things seem to go very quickly.  We finished the brick on the exterior of Lot 14 and added a white slurry to accent the front.  On the inside, we have hung and textured the drywall.  Cabinets and trim arrive this week.

The progress on Lot 11 is about 2-3 weeks behind Lot 14.  We are still completing the framing.  The electricians, AC crew, plumbers and a few others have been hard at work.

Highlighting some great features

The masons have been hard at work and the brick fireplace is almost finished for the house on lot 14. A true masonry fireplace is one of the great features in this home.

In the next photo, you see the "Techshield" decking used on the roof (rather than plain plywood).  It has a radiant barrier on the inside.  Its very energy efficient in this Texas heat.  You can also see the pre-wiring for surround sound speakers (black circle).
In this picture, notice the green color on the bottom of the framing boards.  This is the termite treatment.

Here is a view from the front today.  The roofers are starting today.  The brick crew is working today and will start the outside as soon as they finish the fireplace.  The AC crew is also hard at work.

Work is progressing on Lot 11 also. The framing crew is working today.  Evan and Brooks are enjoying the nice weather and love to come to the job to get dirty!  There's something about mud boys just can't resist (at any age!).
