Texas heat?! No problem.

I'm working on a gorgeous home located in Lumberton on a wooded 10-acre tract.  The homeowners are customizing it just the way they want it.  One custom choice is spray foam insulation.  Not a very glamorous topic, I know, but with heat like ours, it will be noticeable on their utility bills!

Here's what the front of the house looks like today.  It's dried in, with the roofing installed, but we have not started on the brick.

Here's a picture inside the house, looking up into the rafters and the underside of the roof.  Notice all the white insulation.  Normally, there would just be the shiny Techshield layer on the underside of the decking.  With this house, the spray foam is coating the underside of the decking.

The spray foam is also applied in all the exterior walls.  They spray it on and when it has expanded fully and dried, they come back and cut it off flat and level with the studs.  This picture shows an exterior wall with the finished insulation.

Not every homeowner will have the luxury to go this route (it costs more!) but in this case, it was a nice upgrade to weather the Texas heat.
